Dear daughter, I feel that I don’t tell you enough how much I love you and how much you mean to me. That’s why today I want to give you this thank you letter.
There are many things I want to thank you for.
The day you came into my life, was one of my most happy days. I was not fully prepared for what was happening to me, but I felt it in my guts it was great, it was awesome.
Since that day, most of what I do in my life, I do it because of you.
And because of that, I try to be a better person every day. If I’m a better person, I can teach you better.
I’m always thinking of ways that I can guide you to be a better person. I also study regularly, so I can learn new ways of facilitating your growth as a person.
Sometimes you might feel that there are things I can do for you that I might not be doing right away. If you feel like that, you should know that with anything I do, I’m trying to make you a better person, stronger, so you can survive in this crazy world of fake news, fake people, technology zombies, friends that are only friends when they need something from you, or when they think they can benefit from you.
That’s why I always ask you to read, to study, to do more every day.
As Jim Rohn says: “Be a student, not a follower”.
I’m a long-life student because I want to teach you that. I truly believe that is the way forward, that is how we can be better every day, not only for ourselves but for our loved ones.
I want to thank you for how you became a strong woman, independent, smart, having and showing initiative and resourcefulness.
These characteristics that you have, and many more, make the life of any father (and mother) easier. And I’m immensely grateful to you for that.
I also want to thank you for always listening to me, and your family in general. Never forget, without regard for how much you grow, a person who listens twice than he/she speaks, is a smart person and will grow faster and more. Because human beings, collectively, are better than individually.
Thank you for spending time with your grandparents. One of the many virtues you have is that you are grateful. Don’t ever forget about that. Spend time giving back to them because they gave you almost everything you have and they made you what you are now.
I thank you for making time for your sisters, physically and in your thoughts. You are the oldest one and they need you, and the more time pass they will probably need you more.
I thank you for making time for your mother, aunts, uncles, cousins, and family in general. Never forget that the family goes first, then everything else.
Sometimes, when you were in college, I’ll felt powerless. I saw you getting bad assessments in certain subjects. While this was not a good feeling, it forced me to look deeper into your daily routines, your study habits, and other habits as well. The whole process just showed me once more, how awesome you are. With your weaknesses and virtues, you are awesome. I thank you for being in trouble during that time because those issues gave me the possibility to get to know you better. I didn’t know much about this side of your life because you always did great in school. Therefore, I didn’t have to look too much there. I’m sure you remember the troubles better than I do.
I want to thank you because you are making me better every day. Every time I think about you my heart is filled with joy. And suddenly I become sad because I don’t have you next to me to give you a big hug and a big kiss. All these feelings, mixed up, make me work harder and harder every day, for you, for us.
Finally (for now), I want to thank you for existing in my life and for being an awesome daughter.
Love you, Dad.
